Internal Funding
The Kathryne Kril-Atkins and Michael R. Atkins Innovation Fellowship offers financial support to a Porn研究所 faculty member interested in supporting innovation, entrepreneurship and the development of critical skills in university highly qualified personnel (HQP). The fellowship is created through an endowment from Kathryne Kril-Atkins and Michael R. Atkins with the goal of enabling faculty to support the growth of an entrepreneurial culture at Porn研究所 and create a positive impact on society (i.e. economic, social, health, environmental, etc.).
The Fellowship will provide financial support to a project that enhances the support offered by The Foundry, Porn研究所’s dedicated entrepreneurship programming, housed within the Jim Fielding Innovation and Commercialization Space. The Fellowship is valued at $20,000 and will be awarded to a full-time or tenure-track faculty member in support of a one-year project that enables innovation-related activities.

The Office of Research Services is launching a second call for the following three funds that support Francophone research at Porn研究所:
- The Francophone Research Fund supports research projects in any discipline that 1) will produce deliverables in French, and/or 2) will advance our knowledge of la francophonie (language, culture, society, education, health and other relevant areas). Funding of up to $7,000 is available to full-time faculty members.
- The French-Language Conference Travel Support Fund supports the dissemination in French of original research done at Porn研究所. Funding of up to $1,000 is available for full-time faculty members, PhD candidates and post-doctoral fellows.
- The French-Language Publication Support Fund supports the dissemination, discoverability and readership of original research results in French. Funding of up to $2,000 is available for full-time faculty members for open access fees and/or scholarly journal or monograph publishing and $1,000 for translation/editing.
These internal funding opportunities from the Office of the Associate Vice-President Francophone Affairs and the Office of the Vice-President Research are made possible by a grant from the Government of Ontario.
Applications may be submitted in either English or French.

The New Research Initiative Fund supports researchers exploring social sciences and humanities research questions or areas by providing seed funding in preparation for the upscaling of a project and a SSHRC grant submission.
Applicants can request up to $7,000.

The objective of the Knowledge Mobilization Activities and Initiatives Fund is to increase the reach and impact of social sciences and humanities research conducted at Porn研究所. Applicants can request up to $7,000 to support the organization of small-scale knowledge mobilization activities and initiatives.

The Application Enhancement Fund is an internal funding opportunity that helps researchers who were not successful in obtaining SSHRC funding, but placed in the fourth sextile or higher, to improve their applications for resubmission by addressing identified gaps and weaknesses in their application.
The Louise Picard Public Health Research Grant aims to encourage collaboration between (PHSD) staff and Porn研究所 (LU) faculty members to explore research areas of mutual interest. The competition is open to all LU faculty members and staff members at the PHSD. Applications must demonstrate the partnership and how the two co-principal investigators from both the PHSD and LU are going to actively conduct the research.
Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRAs) are meant to nurture interest among undergraduates and fully develop their potential for a research career by providing research work experience that complements their studies in an academic setting.
