Applying to universities can be confusing and overwhelming. That’s why we’ve created this step-by-step How To Apply guide to help you get all of the information you need and provide a seamless transition to becoming a Laurentian student.
Note: This page contains information for domestic undergraduate applicants. To find out how to apply as an international student, see How to apply: International students and International undergraduate admissions.
1. Choose a program and check your program admission requirements
The first big step of the application process and your post-secondary future is finding the perfect program for you!
Once you’ve found a program you’re interested in, check the Admission Requirements section on the program page to make sure you’re eligible to apply and will meet all of the program prerequisites.
Note: In addition to the program prerequisites, the Architectural Studies program requires a portfolio and statement of interest. For more information, visit the Admission Requirements section of the program page.
2. Apply online through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC)
Once you’ve decided on one or more programs, you can apply for them online through the . The OUAC processes applications to all universities in Ontario.

Deadlines
Below are the deadlines to submit your application:
- Group A: Ontario High School Students (September entry only) - January 15th
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (September entry only) - February 1st
- Bachelor of Architectural Studies (September entry only) - February 14th
- Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work (September entry only) - March 1st
- Group B: Non-Ontario High School Application (except for deadlines list above)
- September entry - August 1st
- January entry - December 1st
- May entry - April 1st

Fees
Applications include a base fee, a fee for each additional program you apply for and a fee for transcripts requested via the OUAC. Check the in advance to avoid any surprises and learn about payment options.
3. Log in to the myLaurentian Portal and track your application
You did it! You’ve applied to Laurentian! Within 2 days of completing your application, you should receive an email from the Office of Admissions with your student number and a link to the , where you’ll manage your application.
Log in to the portal, and in the Documents folder, review your acknowledgement letter. The letter provides further instructions on completing your application.
Continue to check the portal regularly to:
- View new messages and documents sent by us
- Track the progress of your application
- Submit any required documents (if you’re not a current high school student)

4. Apply for scholarships and bursaries
Finances should never stand in the way of your education. Take advantage of the several scholarships, bursaries, and awards that Laurentian has to offer for your first year and beyond.
Note: The application processes and eligibility requirements may vary. Make sure to carefully read the details of each scholarship, bursary, or award you’re applying for.
5. Apply for residence
Thinking about living on-campus during your studies? Life in residence offers many advantages: a welcoming environment where you’ll meet students with shared interests, as well as close proximity to classes, health and fitness facilities, study spaces, and a multiplicity of resources.
Current high school students are guaranteed a spot in residence when they apply to University College or Single Student Residence before June 3, 2024. Preferred accommodation is based on availability.
6. Accept your offer of admission
Once your application is reviewed, a decision letter will be posted in the in the Documents folder, which will tell you whether you received an offer of admission.
If you applied via the OUAC, decisions will also appear in your OUAC Account. Read the offer carefully, as you might receive an early conditional offer or an alternate offer.
To accept your offer, log into your OUAC account, and follow the instructions to accept.
The OUAC will send your response to our Office of Admissions.
7. Meet Your Offer Conditions
After you accept your offer, there could still be requirements you need to fulfill to start at Laurentian. Read your offer letter carefully and be sure to meet all of the conditions indicated on page two or your offer will be rescinded.
